Every /tickin command
To clock in, type /tickin start. To clock out, type /tickin end. Typing /tickin on its own does not clock you in — it opens your personal home with quick-action buttons. In Microsoft Teams the same commands go to the Tickin bot.
This list is generated from Tickin's own command registry, so it matches what the product actually accepts. Run /tickin help in your workspace to see the commands available to you.

What differs between Slack and Teams
Every command in the table above runs on both. The replies look different — Teams renders Adaptive Cards, Slack renders Block Kit — and an ambiguous name gets a picker in Slack and a shortlist in Teams, but you can reach the same answer either way.
Two differences remain, and neither is a command:
- The scheduled Daily Leave and WFH report posts to a Slack channel only. Teams gets the live clock-in and clock-out feed, and the same figures are on the web portal.
- Teams needs the Azure Bot setup and the Scale plan. Slack connects on every plan, including Free.
Common questions
- What is the Tickin command to clock in on Slack?
- /tickin start. Typing /tickin on its own does not clock you in — it opens your personal home with quick-action buttons. To clock out, use /tickin end.
- How do I clock out with Tickin?
- /tickin end. It closes any open break automatically and posts your net worked time.
- What does /tickin on its own do?
- It opens your personal home: quick-action buttons for the things you do most, based on your role. It is not a clock-in.
- How do I see every Tickin command available to me?
- /tickin help lists every command you can run, for your role and your workspace's plan.
- Do all Tickin commands work in Microsoft Teams?
- Yes. Every /tickin command runs in both Slack and Microsoft Teams. The replies are drawn differently — Adaptive Cards in Teams, Block Kit in Slack — but the command and the answer are the same. Two things outside the command set still differ: the scheduled Daily Leave and WFH report posts to Slack only, and Teams requires the Azure Bot setup and the Scale plan. Slack connects on every plan, including Free.
- How do I take a break in Tickin?
- /tickin break toggles a break. Run it once to pause the work timer, and again to resume.
- How do I request leave from Slack or Teams?
- /tickin leave opens a short form for full-day leave or Work From Home. It goes through the same approval engine as the web dashboard, and approvers can action it right in the chat.
