A Harvest alternative for teams that track the working day
Harvest tracks time against projects and clients and turns it into invoices, with no screenshots and no activity tracking. Tickin is a time tracking tool for the working day: people clock in from Slack, and the same record drives attendance, leave and payroll. The two overlap on hours but are built for different jobs.
In short
Choose Harvest if you bill clients for time and want invoices straight from timesheets. Choose Tickin if you want working hours, attendance and leave in Slack, free for up to 10 employees, and you invoice in another tool.

What Harvest is great at
Harvest is built for billable work. People track time against projects, clients and tasks, managers watch budgets, and invoices come straight from tracked hours. In Slack, people can start and stop timers, log time and check budgets. It takes no screenshots and does no activity tracking.
Where Tickin is different
Tickin starts from attendance. People clock in with /tickin start and /tickin end in Slack, from the browser or the optional desktop app (Microsoft Teams on the Scale plan), and Tickin records hours, breaks and overtime, flags late starts and keeps leave balances. On the Scale plan, time can also be logged to projects and tasks, approved, and costed against one bill rate per project, but Tickin stops before invoicing.
Pricing for a small team
Harvest's free plan covers one seat and two projects; paid plans start at $9 per seat a month billed annually ($11 monthly), timesheet approvals are on Enterprise, and Harvest also charges by usage for extra projects, clients, tasks and invoices. Tickin is free for up to 10 employees, then $2 per employee a month on Starter, with projects on Scale at $6.
Which should you choose
If invoicing clients from tracked time is the job, Harvest does it end to end and Tickin does not. If you need to know who worked, when and who was on leave, inside Slack, and you invoice elsewhere, Tickin covers more of the day for less.
Frequently asked questions

- For teams that need working hours, attendance and leave in Slack, yes. For invoicing clients from timesheets, no: Tickin does not create invoices, and Harvest does.

- Is Tickin free?
- Tickin is free for up to 10 employees. Harvest's free plan is one seat and two projects.
- Does either tool take screenshots?
